Following graduation from the Canberra School of Music, where she studied clarinet with Donald Westlake, Louise played with the ABC Sinfonia, the Sydney Symphony and The Australian Chamber Orchestra, with whom she toured internationally. She was on the teaching faculty of the Canberra School of Music before accepting a position with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
